It seems funny to me that all of our games against the so called "better" teams in this league + B'muff have ended up in their fans saying that they just had a bad day at the office. My charlton mate refused to believe we simply played them off the park and simply said they just played rubbish, on the posh podcast although they said we played nice, slick football they still said that they just played awful. And my B'muff friend said that they played rubbish and they are usually better than that.
Maybe it's me but it seems strange that all of these teams had an off day aginast us. Is it possible we are just playing so well and having so much of the ball we are just making them look like a sunday pub team?

Teams will play badly, generally, if they come up against a side that doesn't let them in the game. It is up to them to compete or the opposing manager to change things about.

It's called Denial and it's the most common thing in sport. If you have another match/competition/race in a few days and you've just been beaten heavily you can't dwell on that and think 'We were nowhere near them, we might as well pack it in'. Instead you say 'we had some bad luck and would have been there' or 'we were off form'. That way you can get up for the next one and believe you can do it. Joe Lewis said it like it was after the game but I bet he was 'put right' by the manager or teammates when he got back in the changing room.

Its the beauty of not being neutral. Everyones out to get you and yoru hard done by or lose by fluke.

But its just us, other teams are just being twats and actually referee's just hate us. Irrational but its what you do as a fan (with the said exceptions).

I know what you mean, and I think to an extent most fans look for excuses in one form or another. However I'd like to think that I can appreciate when we are out-played or when we don't deserve to win. Look at the Peterborough fans on Saturday, they believe we deserved to win but many of them are still saying "Bennett dived for the penalties" or "Barnes should have been sent off with Boyd" or "Calderon was a cheat". It's just how it goes.
