seeing as everyone had some sterling advice on krakow i thought y'all might be some help with this one too!

got a day off in dubai tomorrow and wanna some proper local stuff! no idea about the place (besides the fact that everyone needs new bags/wallets to get through customs! hahah) and wondered if anyone had ever been and if there were tips for fun/amazing stuff to see?

dont think we've got any seagulls permanently stationed there have we? sure some have been though...

thanking the wealth of knowledge that is NSC as usual :clap::ascarf:

Make sure you take a boat taxi down the Dubai Creek, it is mental, and fun, a packed boat, full of locals in a crazy busy shipping lane. Get to the market and buy yourself some saffron. Its the BOOOOM

If you are feeling even crazier you can go skiing in the Mall of Emirates, or feeling rich go for a meal in the Burj El Arab, you can get their by submarine and eat in the restaurant under water. Expensive though

My favourite was getting a 4x4 tour of the desert followed by camel ride and bbq under the stars

there's a heritage neighborhood called Al Bastakiya - old houses and souk with signature windtowers - never been mind Albastakiya.com :: Home

or the desert safari is quite fun if a bit touristy

extremely hot at the moment so best bet is a waterpark - Wild Wadi at Jumeirah Beach or the one at Atlantis on the Palm.

Yes been there too but must admit I was carted everywhere... you probably won't see very muchy of the REAL Dubai... only the westernised shopping mall type bits.... there's a brilliant restuarant... I think its called the Steak Factory.

The hotels are unbelievable but in reality... you'll probably have a good time but you won't see much of the real country... unless you get right out of Dubai.
