Newmarket.
Any from the first 7 on The Real Thing except Epic (I find it too easy)
I still listen to the album and Angel Dust regularly after 30 years or so.
Nobody has made music like FNM.
Pushed I think I would have to go with this:

A live version of this from Brixton Academy is on the B side of the Epic 7" shaped picture disc.

Saw them on their first ever UK tour with Chuck RIP, then again at the Marquee on their first visit to the UK with their new singer Mike Patton a few weeks after The Real Thing was released . Good times although there was only a hundred or so at the first gig. I seem to recall they covered Stairway to Heaven as well.

Favourite song is Underwater Love.

From out of nowhere is a particular favourite of mine, along with We Care a Lot and Annie’s Song. Bloody brilliant band, I so enjoyed their early years, one of the best live bands I’d ever seen.
As far as album openers go, it’s up there with the best. A real statement of intent.

I was at the marquee for their first show also! Was gutted when Chuck left but I gave the new guy a go on his debut and was blown away. Wardour Street, Charing Cross Road, The Astoria, a chaotic Brixton show, Nottingham, Birmingham and Hammersmith happy days!

I remember we went to the Real Thing Marquee gig not knowing what to expect. This was pre-internet and zero radio play and the only exposure I had was via some articles in Sounds or Kerrang. I don’t think I’d even heard the new album as it had only been out a few weeks and none of my gang had bought it. A very different world then.

Yep. The same for me. I remember it vividly as I was sceptical. I started the show upstairs with some friends, but after a couple of numbers I was sold, I ran downstairs and got in some stagedives, the energy was unreal.
