Just far enough away from LDC
Minro strain, expected back soon according to Swedish media...

So if previous injury pronouncements are anything to go by, he was sliced across the abdomen by a claymore left behind by wee Billy Gilmour during an altercation with Baleba about who has the most menacing eyes, and will be out for 2 weeks less than James Milner following his sore thigh

Ah, the old "easier overwork that made you not want to risk anything with your Swedish" injury.

Lots of talk about benching him. Among our players with 20+ PL games this season, he is, below Welbeck (1.86) and shared with Baleba (1.75),, the guy to have on the pitch if we want points per game. If they can sustain that for the rest of the season, we land on a massive 66.5 points.

Wieffer, Gomez and Hinsh as midfielder... it is tempting given how lively they've looked for parts and pieces of games. But is this the time to gamble and swap out vital cogs in the machinery?

Imo he should start most of the games left. His excellent stamina helps us being competitive for the first 70 minutes or so before finishing them off in the end, whereas Wieffer and Gomez have really struggled to remain on top when playing more than 45.

As for Jack Hinshelwood, he should start every game on RB at least until Veltman is back. Unfortunately he'll just have to live through getting played to death because we're hunting a top 5 position and can't leave our best players out.

I'm very much #teamayari right now. Next season is a much different story but now, with wind in our sails... just keep going.

Strange how you watch games differently. No agenda, everyone's views are OK with me.
However I thought he was our least effective player on Saturday (he was competing with Pervis for that title). He wasn't 'bad' just didn't really seem to do anything of note, either offensively or defensively, he runs around a lot I'll give you that. Good delivery for JPvH goal but that had followed 3 woeful corners.

Ayari is doing great. But one of our best assets for the rest of the season is the ability to start him (or Gomez, Hinsh, Wieffer) alongside Baleba, and then sub on one of the others in the second half so the energy levels are maintained. It's an area we have great strength in depth in, and during games as other teams tire we can keep pressing them, and outwork them in the middle. There arent many teams in 5th to 10th spots who can sub off their 2 centre mids, and maintain quality with who's coming on.

I think Fab's preferred starting central midfield is Carlos and Jack.
When Jack has to move to fullback to cover, Ayari is next choice to fill in because as you say he will keep going for longer.
I agree at the moment Weiffer and Gomez are seen as the finishers, which I think is ok.

I wasn't at the game, but it sounded on the radio as though Ayari replaced Minteh as the corner taker - so was it Ayari with the poor delivery or Minteh?
Minteh first three didn’t get past the first man. Ayari were better - bar the rather comical in the 2nd half that looked like it was lifted in using a 9 iron that ended up with him air kicking it when it got sent back into the box.

Ayari is great - a quietly effective player. Can run all day and I would start him in the majority of the games myself. There will be some horses for courses type scenarios but anytime he has a fully tanked engine I’d start him, he also has a good understanding with Baleba on where each is and needs to be when defending.

Ayari is a very decent and intelligent midfielder. he comes from the same mould as Jack Hinshelwood.
Neither of them are flash, neither of them have the need to commit crunching tackles or make 50 metre raking passes.

They both keep possession of the ball, they both track their opponents defensively and are always available as an outlet for their team mates.
And they both would benefit from a MOTD or Sky analysis of the important stuff they do in a game for the side.

Both of them are very impressive young footballers who have big careers ahead of them.
I don't envy Fab's challenge of getting all our midfielders enough minutes.
