Today is Wednesday. I have not questioned that. Until it isn't, of course. Which it isn't.

It appears to be Thursday. I now have to do some work this evening that is always done earlier in the day in preparation for my team tomorrow.

All this has come about because I found myself off my schedule and doing a project for three days. My brain still thinks a day has been lost somewhere. I am still having to keep checking that tomorrow is Friday. I am that puzzled. But anyway, I'll assume that the world isn't playing a joke on me and work on the idea it is indeed Thursday. I think.

All this is recoverable. But has anyone ever utterly embarrassed themselves other than admitting to be a stupid, dopey, donkey on a football forum ?

In those distant days before everyone had a mobile phone, let alone a smartphone, I bought a watch that had the day of the week on.
I needed it for the day more than the time.

Of course.

I turned up a day late for a uni exam, and a day late for my job interview. Luckily (you can guess the rest).

Today I arrived to give a lecture in the wrong theatre. It was what it said in my paper diary, but the room had been changed in my outlook diary.
Because the college has me catalogued under 3 names, and only one can appear as default in outlook, once again you can guess the rest.

Apparently my ability to f*** up once a year is due to my autism.
Well, that's my excuse.

I just booked tickets for the Forest game. Had to check that my son is available.
Then saw in my paper diary we are at home on Saturday.
I had no idea.

You just have to roll with it

Since doing shift work, I forget what day it is quite often.

Got ready for school on a Saturday once, turned out to be a great day.
Quite a few years back I got as far as the station to go to work in London one Monday morning and wondered why my usual train wasn’t showing on departures.

It was a Bank Holiday 🤦‍♂️

Unless you are, of course, over a certain age and in fact SHOULD have been at school on a Saturday morning.

Many many years ago, I had an interview with one of the big five banks (no clues but there was a big black horse). I was living in Brighton, working in Worthing, and thought there's no need to set an alarm clock 😲

I woke up at 9.55 for an interview at 10.30. Panicked, I phoned the HR Director and explained I'd popped into work to sort out a couple of things and had got held up. 'No worries she said, what time can you make it ?' I said 11.00, got up showered shaved and the other one and turned up 10.55 on the dot.

Got the job, and a year or so later the HR director told me that they had been really impressed I went into my old job to 'sort some things'.

I know there's a few NSCers who know where I'm referring to, but didn't know that. Just our secret

Not a time and day thing, but an embarrassing moment.

Starkers (with a mate) in a ski resort hotel sauna, when other guests arrived in swim gear. We hadn’t realised that Italy didn’t share the spa etiquette of Germanic/Nordic nations. That was an awkward exit!

I regularly wish my work colleagues a nice weekend when I leave the office, not realising it’s often still only Wednesday or Thursday when I do so and not Friday :giggle:

With WFH hybrid arrangements, that might often be true  .
Yes absolutely - most staff where I am have WFH built into the week now so yes, could easily not see colleagues on Fridays anyway - that’s probably why I don’t know what day it is half the time!
