Easy game. One celebrity who was absolutely lovely, one who was shit. Don't need a lot of detail and hopefully @Bozza can't get sued.

Example

Molly Sugden

Lovely - source, local newspaper photographer

Cilla Black

No danger of libelling the dead, so it’s widely known Cilla was an absolutely awful person to be around in those heady days of being alive. She got through 7 PA’s in a year at one point.

I don’t have my own personal story about her, despite working in the biz (she was before my time thankfully) but colleagues have described her as an absolute tyrant and deeply unpleasant person.

Source: Friend of my parents who worked for HMRC. Even before all the recent stuff back in the 1990s he regularly told stories about how he was arrogant, rude and treated the plebs like shit.

Fair play!

Dame Judi Dench. I was covering stage sound for a friend, so was crouching in the wing next to the mic monitors. Dame Judi stands beside me waiting in the wings for her entrance, looks down and sees a very nervous young man crouching at knee level.

“Oh, you’re new! Where’s (my friend)?”

“Oh um, I’m sorry… I..”… (I panicked). She let out a little giggle and said “hold that thought”. Then went on and did her scene, came back and had a ten minute conversation with me in the wing while I neglected my duty. It was a bit like being spoken to by the Queen, it overrides protocol.

She asked me how I was, about my family, my ambitions. Genuinely interested in other people and thoroughly disarming. And of course a wonderful actress.

Don’t often get starstruck but you were in the presence of a star who was also a wonderful woman.

That's good, I like her and would be really disappointed if she wasn't lovely

And the shit ?

Beverley Craven, who I’d never heard of, making everyone absolutely miserable at a charity event hosted by Adam Virgo at the Grand. Absolute nightmare and made two of my young (volunteer) staff cry.
