I would like a fairly hard group, e.g. Australia, Ivory Coast, France/Portugal.

If we have a piss easy group, there's much more chance of us losing against a better team in the 1/4's or 1/2's due to thinking were AMAZING when really we've beat a few minnows. Get past a hard group, and we might just do it.

Agreed although I'd still like us to play a poor-ish team as our third group game, so we can rest a few players if we're already qualified.

That group is a little TOO hard for my liking. I would rather we grew into the tournament. It's hard being on top form from game 1, and maintaining that throughout.
