Saw The Clash at Victoria Park Hackney (Anti Nazi League gig), Canterbury Odeon - was on The Clash guest list that night, how is THAT! - and saw them at Brighton Centre just as they were on the point of splitting up and Strummer was into Mohican haircuts.

Best. Band. EVER.

The Clash, the Undertones, the Ramones, Blue Aeroplanes, The Popguns and A House in a photo finish, followed by the Sex Pistols (because they were instrumental in waking the lethargy of a nation).

Throw in a little Siouxsie and the Banshees, Tom Waits, Echo and the Bunnymen, Buzzcocks, Sugarcubes and the Cocteau Twins and I am in Heaven.

And not forgetting Squeeze and Bill Nelson.

And of course - the mighty Slade.
