I also prefer my name shortened prabably mainly as the only times i ever get called my full name is when i am in trouble.

And back to Ty its certainly not the worst name out there.

If she gets married, she'll be a Ty bride.

Not a name that would make my list but I have heard worse. I am also a fan of names that cannot be shortened, or at least not easily. Hence my children are called, Ethan, Aaron and Iona.

Iona is shortened to 'Ona or 'Owns by her sister in our household!

Just been researching some facsinating facts of the person who portray's the Doctor's daughter. She is the daughter of the actor who portrayed the fifth doctor and her best mate at school was the daughter of the sixth doctor. And she got pregnant at 16 naming her child 'Ty Moffett'
