Which was the one where Manuel is left in charge and answers the phone. "No he no here" etc and finally waving the phone around "LOOK he no here!!" Classic.

Watched a re-run on cable recently. Classic comedy but would say it has dated now.

Basil the rat is the funniest I think,although the Mrs Richards episode is also hilarious,especially the scene where they are discussing the view from her bedroom window.........something along the lines of....

Mrs Richards : "what do you call that view?"

Basil : "thats Torquay madame"

Mrs Richards : "well its not good enough"

Classic!

Nowhere near as funny though as the clever and sarcastic wit of Blackadder goes fourth......every episode was a classic!

The Mrs Richards one is funny especially when they are talking about the horse. Manuel starts going on saying "which horse witnit?" to which Basil replies "No, your the nitwit the horse is called Dragonfly". Its a classic episode that makes you laugh from start to finish.

The Major is well funny when he goes on about wogs etc.

Basil: I learnt classical Spanish, not the strange dialect he seems to have picked up.

I love all of them but like "The Germans" and "Gourmet Night" best. The car beating scene is classic and I know just how he feels - I have a car like that.

I love the scene in the Germans when the guests are getting confused between the fire and burgular alarms. I always end up bursting out laughing every time.

When trying to mime 'Dragonfly' to the receptionist so that she'll be able to tell Sybil - points at Sybil and 'breathes fire' on toast for 'Dragon', points at zipper for 'fly' - to which the flustered girl responds "small?" ! (and in real life she was Cleese's wife)
That was hard to top - plus the old gal with the vase turning up her hearing aid as Basil mouthed silent words before shouting into her full-volumed amplifier
