FOOTBALL: Worthing's Albion friendly is back on - Worthing Today

WORTHING'S annual pre-season friendly with Brighton & Hove Albion is back on, and will take place on July 15 (7.45pm).
Rebels had feared that the game would not take place, but the game has got the go-ahead to the delight of Worthing president Morty Hollis, who said: "We are delighted to have Brighton come back again to continue our relationship with them.

"It's the 12th year of the fixture and we hope all the fans in the area will turn up."

Might combine this with a day at Arundel for the cricket - hop off at Worthing on the train back.

As we play Havent the night before I guess this won't be a first team game.

Probably a case of playing two different squads. We've done it before in pre-season.
Glad to have the Worthing fixture back on. It's a pre-season MUST.

What's the point? It'll be of no use whatsoever. Russell might as well bring the lads for a kickabout in my back garden for all the good it'll do them.

Good PR for the club and helps out another with a little bit of cash.

We're supposed to be a community club after all.

Its not against 'BHA'. Its against 'a BHA XI'.

Sensible compromise.

To be fair, they (pre season matches) are all "a Brighton XI" aren't they. There will be a combination of 1st teamers, reserve, youth and possibly even the well know journeyman player "A Trialist" playing.

I am encouraged...it assumes that the squad will be big enough to be able to play 2 games in 2 days and that's in only 2 weeks time :yahoo:
