For reasons that are too boring to go into, I am meeting an old mate this Monday afternoon/evening in Worthing for a few beers. I have not been there for years and he's even more unfamiliar than me. I realise it's a Monday but, in my shoes, which Worthing boozer would you be heading to and why? Ta
Hare and Hounds for sure...

The nightmare is to walk in, amble up to the bar and find its Carlingberg or Fosters for lagers or Spitfire or Tribute for beer....run.
Reminds me of the pub I went to in Stoke.

Saw it on the bus on my way to my hotel, thought "ooh they've got a load of cask taps", went in on my way to the ground to discover none of those taps were on and their best lager offering was Starapromen or whatever it's called.

Got into a chat with a local who filled me in on all the horror stories on my hotel (which proved to be at least somewhat justified). I turned down his offer of a lift to the ground on the basis that I had no way of confirming he was only on his second pint at the time. :lolol:

Never trust a pub with blinds.

I met my missus in the Tirola bar whilst on a night out from Lovely Lancing... in 1982, we have been married for nearly 38 years....
Have you got any pictures of her naked ?...if not, do you want some ?

Not in Whitechapel
The sports bar in the Ye Olde House At Home is a bit of a hidden gem, although admittedly out the way.

Corner House/New Amsterdam/Cow & Oak/Ergmont/Selden is a solid little mini-crawl too. Could maybe even stroll down to the Alexandra if you could be arsed which is supposed to be okay now.

Well before my time probably closer to 1992 for me, I was usually well on the way by the time we got in there.

My only memory of the place is that it had black and green Tennent's lager on tap down the far left hand end of the bar if I remember correctly.

I don't even remember what it sold, just the faux apres ski look... quite out of context for Worthing.... and the occasional dust ups between Lancing and Maybridge ... 🫣🫣😎

Worthing seems to be out Brightoning Brighton for pubs these days. There are some truely characterless establishments in the centre of town and loads of interesting places scattered around, many of which have been highlighted on this thread. A lot like the centre of Brighton in that regard.

If you are in the town centre the new Anchored Inn location is worth seeking out. It is larger than the old place, which really isn't hard, has some outside seating and is easier to locate.

Whereabouts is it ?
Is the old place now shut ?
I had some mental cider in there one night - jeez it blew my head off and melted the enamel on my teeth 🤣

Moved out of the old place as the property owner wanted too much rent. For those with long enough memories, they are now where the Cockle & Bacon was many years ago

The Seldon is a pub that seems like it got stuck in a time warp. A throw back to the 60's with decor to match.

The downside is you have to be about 80 to get in. That even rules me out!

🤨 When was the last time you went in there? It had a refit last year and attracts a wide range of age groups. Now a sister pub to The Hole In The wall.
