World food crisis? Stop having kids.

So there is a world food crisis.

Not bloody surprising. This planet cannot sustain the present population let alone the forecast future increase.

And yet we're constantly asked to help feed the poor in third world countries. Why should we? If they're too poor to feed themselves they should not be having kids. We send them food, they get healthier ... then what do they do ... have more f***ing kids ... then there's a drought ... they ask for more food ... they have more kids.

The third world is the problem because they do not have the ability to feed themselves. If the people had half a brain between them they'd put their energy into sorting out their problems, not reproducing.

My message:
Sort out your backward mess of a country, then think about maybe having a couple of kids to keep your population at a steady level.
Under no circumstances think about coming to Britain for a "better life". We worked bloody hard to create this "better life" for ourselves, not to give it away to lazy foreigners. And anyway, THE UK IS FULL! We don't want or need any more people. You will not be welcome here. Do not even think about coming.

Rant over .... for the moment.

Whilst I appreciate the point about reproduction, it is not as straight forward as stopping reproduction. There are not enough resources in countries such as Ehtiopia etc. to deal with sex education and provide contraception. Hell, most of the rural hospitals in Africa do not have access to basic things such as syringes. Corruption at governmental levels needs to be addressed.

As far as working hard to make our homeland, sure, but didn't we build Great Britain on exploiting natural resources from the less developed countries?

There may be trouble ahead....

Just wait till the third world starts fighting over scarcer and scarcer water supplies.

Shocking ain't it! The most abundent liquid on the planet yet the governments over there spend all their money on arms and bollocks if their people starve or have no clean water :thud:

One thing that really pisses me off are these families who are intent on setting a record for the number of children. You tend to see an article or two in the trashy newspapers (Metro etc.) and/or a series on TV. The families that have 12 and want more as they love babies etc. Why should the taxpayer fund £1,000s worth of child benefit, income benefit, housing benefit, medical expenses, school expenses, just because some idiots decide they want to collect babies.

The thing I don't get is when they say "Sponsor just £2 a month and you can feed a child". Do they get some kind of discount because there is no way you could feed a child even for a day on that kind of budget in this country.

Amen to that.

Great eh? everyones got an AK47 and no ones got any scoff.

Recipe for disaster that.

I suppose it would be a start if the Western countries and the former Soviet Union tried, perhaps, not selling them tons of weapons and instead sold them some fruit.

The answer to that is what China has done and only pay benefit for the first child. After that it is down to the parents to fund their family and it seems to be working OK out there as the average is down from 3.4 children to 1.2

Clean water medicine and food seem to come a very poor second to arms out there.

The G8 nations and maybe even NATO should pitch in to help stop the arms trade out there.

Certainly agree with the point about reproduction in these starving African nations. The news pictures are DOMINATED by scenes of malnourished toddlers at deaths door. These people arn't animals. How can they conciously DECIDE to bring a baby into a world in which they are already starving to death in themselves ? Do they just need a good f*** now and then to keep their mind off things and stuff the consequences ?

Selfish and moronic. They are not the cause of the problems of famine, but they are sure as hell excaberrating that very problem even further by breeding. The UN should get out there with a team of surgeons to do nothing but perform vasectomies day and night.

The prices aren't the same here as there :thud:

The reason they have many children is because:
1. Not all of them will survive
2. If they do survive they are used to work for the family, to make money

It may not work too well but there aren't many choices for them

They would have to go back to slaughtering each other the old fashioned way with Clubs and spears I suppose.

Interestingly big Pharma tries to tell us all that they give loads of medicines away over there, which they do, but in fact it is usually done to avoid paying tax rather than for alturistic reasons. The problem is also that Pharma companies spend very little time and effort on developing effective treatments for Malaria, dysentry etc which are endemic in poor nations because they have no money to pay for such treatments, Pfizer and GSK would rather spend their time and effort developing baldness treatments and erectile dysfunction treatments than trying to cure Typhiod and Yellow fever.
