My thoughts as well. Knowing there are 'paid for sponsored fans' out there, how do we know those on TV and radio aren't being paid to say how good it is. One thing they do all agree on is that the lack of beer has made the whole atmosphere so much safer. Fans on the radio overnight spoke of their £6000 budget has well been exceeded and they are looking for other accomadation.
Tonights game KO's at 10 pm local time. NSC would go into meltdown if the Charlton game was played that late. Extra time and pens could see it finish well past 1 am. Are the trains still running?
Yeah I guess it’s not a ferry to France or an £80 easy jet flight to Italy where the chair luzzing crews would go in their 1000’s for the weekend.

It looks a very middle class England support out there, either that or they have carefully selected the fans they interview on the box.
Not really from my experience of either Welsh or English, but then I never saw any media. Keep in mind it’s an expensive World Cup in terms of travel, so all the coke snorting flare up their arse chavs only tend to go to France, Germany, Wembley so a long haul flight is out of the question

Saw a couple of girls interviewed on BBC Breakfast that were flying in today from Dubai, they had plastics written all over them. One with a mid-Atlantic accent didn't even know the title for football's coming home, let alone the words

Plenty of old faces out there. No problem with beer, many doing all you can drink brunches or in the bars £6-£7 a pint getting tanked up all day. 10pm kick off isn’t great though as most hungover by that point ! And transport puts anything the UK can manage to shame.

Even the Al Bayt stadium which is furthest out and not on the metro had fleets of electric buses ferrying fans back to town or nearest metros. All free of course

Eh? It's not like the points from today's game will make up for any we drop against France. And if we were likely to beat France, it would be even more important to win today.
But if we beat France then losing today wouldn't be so bad though.

Yeah, we should enslave poor foreigners and force them to build better rail infrastructure, then we can be the envy of the world.

We could do that - all we need to do is stop all welfare payments and exploit the poor (making the tories look like socialists). We could probably supply weapons to Russia to fully take over Ukraine and then split the spoils.

Exactly. With thousands homeless on the streets, starving kids being sent to school we can take the morale high ground against pretty much everyone

The FA have sold out its allocation for every game - roughly 12%-14% of each stadium capacity. We even got some more ‘conditional’ quarter final tickets from FIFA on Friday - although Cat 1

Wales game especially had England (and Welsh) fans all over the stadium
How much are tickets for each category?

Right, so you think the human rights in the UK are no better than in Qatar. Ok mate.

Sorry I didn’t realise we were playing top trumps
You were stating how Qatar's infrastructure puts ours to shame. It's quite reasonable to point out that they enslave people and work them to death to build such things. You trying to compare that with the problems in the UK is laughable.

Good and I hope all the British / European construction / architect / civil engineering organisations involved one day get called out as well

Unlike some I’ll be enjoying today’s first game as a neutral. What will be will be, so many people just assuming we’ll trounce Senegal, “setting sights on France” etc. while I think France will progress, I’m just looking forward to a really good game.
