World Cup Bonus

Well the poor players are going to need it, some of them are close to retirement and after the world cup will have to think about settling down. We'll soon forget them then and they'll not be able to find much other work with their skills.

I mean just look at the last lot that won a world cup for us. Can anyone honestly say they remember the likes of "Geoff Hurst", "Bobby Moore" or "Martin Peters"?

Exactly, probably faded into obscurity and died penniless...

I wonder how much they get if they flatter to deceive by scraping past a couple of mediocre teams then get knocked out in the quarter finals/semis by somebody good after taking the lead then BEING CRAP FOR THE REST OF THE GAME

It's not even as if they have to win it to get the bonus, according to the piece in the Times they get it for qualifying from the group stages.

If you hit a performance target then you get a bonus in other walks of life, why should the players not be the same?

It said in the paper today that winning the world cup would be worth around 50m to the FA so im sure that backed up the players argument. It's way too much IMHO and they should play for their 100k they will receive at the end of the week, not that bad is it?!
