Our 'staff restaurant' didn't even have any bread yesterday.

A basic staple.

The last place I worked in the Uk had a free restaurant for staff (3 course meal lunchtime and evening if desired) plus a subsidised bar, games room with 2 full size snooker tables (free) 2 pinball tables (cheap) etc. It also had a free swimming pool, tennis courts, and a one hole golf course.

Naturally, I never did any work...

Jonnyboylennon... you're being sarcastic, right? After 6 years in the place and having it change ownership 3 times (Sodexho, Gardner Merchant and finally Eurest Sutcliffe) it has always been a bit of a let-down. They occasionally have a decent main meal, but I've so often resorted to a potato when there just hasn't been any kind of selection.
