I've actually seen this experiment demonstrated. The usual difference is that men will draw a technically correct bike, whereas women will draw something that looks a bit like a bike but will include a rider.

One experiment I know of is to get a map and work out a fixed route from one point (marked) to another (unmarked). You read out directions from the starting point i.e left, forward, left, right etc. and they trace the route and should end up at the pre-determined finishing point.

Is this a good point to admit that a few years back I directed a car full of Albion supporters along a road that turned out to be a crease in the map on the way to Plymouth. Mitigating circumstances, I had the hangover from hell that morning.
