The assurance from SC was not time limited in any way...

It would therefore be outrageous if he then came in for any of our players under contract, such as Dan...

Spot the new signing?

Prediction: 4-0 defeat.

I'll go along with that Trigger. Looks very much though like a Div 2 team.

but whats the chances of finding 3 players called new bloke

You've got to be looking first. If we are, we're not looking very hard. Or perhaps there is just nobody suitable available.

I think there is a map of Stamford Bridge somewhere with countryside surrounding it.

It has never been economic to build a sports stadium in the centre of town.

Now it seems to have changed with Wembley and Ashburton Grove, but that is all silly money.

The Goldstone was typical. On the edge of town.

It does not make sense to have asset in the middle of town that is only used say 30 times a year. It is just plain daft.

Before cars became popular, low crowds were often blamed because the ground was too far away from public transport.

Wasn't that just for the duration of last season; the same as the assurance that Pardew gave to Reading?

What were his exact words?
"Coppell is unlikely to come after our best players since I explicitly obtained that assurance from him before he left. However, if he does decide to move for them, he will need an enormous chequebook from his new chairman, John Madejski, otherwise it will be strongly resisted!" (Dick Knight, October 2003).
