Mullery was brought back because one of the Blooms, heard that name somewhere, wanted Barry LLoyd as manager and as Harty said it would have been suicide to appoint him straight from Worthing as No1. They then used a feeble excuse about him living too far away to sack him.
Any drivers on here I am sure would agree that it would have taken Mullery less time to drive from Cheam where he lived very near to Banstead Crossroads to The Goldstone than it would Hinshlewood from Selsy if both left at 8.30am.
