Wide Screen or Plasma

I have a 42" plasma in my lounge, and a couple of LCD screens elsewhere one 18" the other 28" The plasma gives a better picture for sports for the reasons mentioned above. The plasma is pretty good - there is some pixelation at high speed panning but this is more than made up for by the immersion you get in the image - It really does feel a bit like you are there, more so if you have a decent home cinema sound system to.

The prices for a Plasma screen are very cheap these days - beware Richer Sounds though, a lot of there tvs are second user or ex display!

Another option would be to get a 28 or 32" widescreen CRT for every day viewing and, if you have the space, get a projector, for big event/film viewing. Doesn't need to be ceiling mounted - can sit on a coffee table or whatever.

Picture can be almost as big as you, and the size of your room, wants it to be. And not *that* expensive either.
