New format for Champions League post-2024: Everything you need to know

From this season, clubs that qualify for either the Champions League or Europa League are guaranteed a minimum of 8 matches, playing 8 different opponents.

So is that for teams in the CL and EL now (and going forwards), or for just for teams qualifying for next year's competitions (and forward).

After reading the article, it seems to me that is the format now and going forwards.

Bloom and Barber have always said we'll buy when we find the players we need within the defined cost structure, it just takes time and the availability stars have to align. It takes patience (waiting for the right player), resolve (not to break our structure), nous (selling at the right price) and ingenuity (a brilliant system helping us find the right targets). All this doesn't guarantee success, of course, but it feels great right now!

All of which presumably RDZ understood when he joined us and was even told at the fans forum we would be bolstering the squad this summer - I begs the question of what he ‘didn’t like about the plan’.

PBOBE said we would be trying for Europe again and surely knew we would be having a decent spend after the disappointing transfer window last summer when we failed to close a number of deals. along with his admission we made ‘mistakes’ in January. The PSR deadline and crackdown on FPP has really helped us this window - it’s a buyer’s market.

It has probably made a big difference having a manager who has a proven track record of being absolutely committed to working with what players he has rather than bellyaching for more players.
