Why have we sent MAYO to a German specialist?

Mayo has been great cover for our left back, bar Joel coming back, he has done little wrong when he has played recently. At Swindon he looked good going forward and got stuck in.

The club must have a duty of care. If I sustained an injury on my employer's time, I would expect them to pay whatever it cost to get me back into work.

Granted they wouldn't send me to Germany, but my livlihood does not depend upon having professional-sports level fitness.

It is a complete waste of money... however, the biggest mistake is that he should NOT have been offered a deal in the summer... same applies to Harty and Loft... to spend more money on a player who has ZERO chamnce of playing in th first team again is just plain IGNORANT...

Nice

As UB says maybe just maybe its CHEAPER to have treatment in Germany than in England even with flights and accomodation.

Just a thought.

It beggars belief that we offered Mayo onother contract... now we decide to waste yet more good money... maybe not 'nice', but we are a football club not a fcuking charity...

But the harsh truth... we are not in a position to waste money...as we are often reminded by the ar$e-lickers on here...

Quite right. Blow £300,000 on a centre-forward, then leave him to rot with his injury. He might be end up being a write-off, but we saved a few quid doing so, two years' further wages notwithstanding.

While you're at it, divide and rule - treat one player and not the other. Pay their wages, then leave them both to sue the club when there is evident negligence due to lack of care.

Excellent use of money.

Ever thought that your signature might need changing?

I am pretty sure not every injured player gets jetted off to a foreign specialist.

Makes sense with Murray who we need back ASAP.

The same cannot be said for Mayo.

Well maybe the club thinks that's the best way to get him fit again? After he is under contract to us as a player, he's more use if he's physically able to play than not.

Why do you think they've gone to a foreign specialist? Possibly because the treatment is unavailable here? The fact they're overseas is not the point. It's about getting the treatment.

Notwithstanding the fact that both are important members of the manager's squad, the club has a duty of care, and to send one and not the other is not fulfilling that duty.

What happens if McNulty get injured/suspended? Like it or not, Micky (or possibly the next manager) may want to consider options. A fit Kerry, despite what you or BW (or many others) feel, happens to be one.

Right here, right now
The reserves are still in the Sussex Senior Cup. Would he not be one of the first on that team sheet?

I presume the club still want the reserves to do well and would not refuse to treat a player because he is 'only' a reserve squad member rather than a regular first teamer.

The treatment alone on OGH will be justified for this piece of local silverware. If we get past Horsham et al that is...
