Why do words at the end of one line get repeated at the beginning of the next

I though at first they were typos but then it started happening to me sometimes. A word appears twice, at the end of a line and then at the beginning of the next even though you only typed it once.

I have had this problem. If you are using IE as your browser go to the top right hand corner and click the middle of the three buttons - the Restore Down button - and that extra word on the first line should disappear.
