carpeted?

Falmer copes with about 15,000 people every other Saturday. Surely not that many will be at Shakedown.

Why oh why is there a green baize at the bottom of Ann Street with picnic tables.

Surely if you want a coffee the sanctuary of Costa's is a must.

Tell me why!

The seaside.
True but the only response to your complaint might be them closing Falmer station on Saturdays too :(
PS first time in Dick's Bar this afternoon, looks like something out of Barbarella (in a good way) and yay the security guard who let my Scandinavian friend have a gander at the stadium proper. Class club as ever, Brighton.

If you were a real fan you would be in Derby tomorrow, but as you are our Dear Leader you are forgiven

Lively Cities project - Brighton Hove City Council

Lively Cities project

Brighton & Hove City Council is working to transform the area around Ann Street and Providence Place Gardens (the small park opposite St Bartholomew’s Church) into a lively, safe and successful public space.

From Monday 1 to Sunday 14 October we will be undertaking a temporary transformation of this area. We are removing railings, installing WiFi and organising artworks, events and entertainment in a bid to change the area’s image and attract more people in.

There’s a café, chairs, tables, two ping-pong tables and part of Ann Street has been covered with artificial turf.

Please come by, have a look and join in.

Programme of events (all weather permitting)

Events taking place every day 3 -14 October

Table tennis 11am-9pm

Street food by the French Revolution - crêpes and galettes Noon-8pm

Al fresco eating/drinking 1pm-8pm

Ann Street Illumination of the trees 6.30pm-9pm

And this sort of thing is happening all over Europe (well ... maybe not the whole of Europe):-

Lively Cities, reclaim public space for public use (Placemaking, Urban lifestyle point)

8 Europeans partners, 1 common aim

The Lively Cities’ Partners are from various horizons and have different expertises: public consultations, ecology, culture, music and public art, sustainable development and environment, culture heritage, facilities and green urban space management, urban renewal, information and communication technology, design, town centre management, place making, tourism, european projects… They will work together about common issues empty spaces and linkage between spaces.

Could Falmer being closed be something to do with the Transport Police not wanting 10,000 possibly drunk revellers crossing the A27 to get to the station ?

Moulsecoomb would be because its waaaaaaaaaay to small. Surprised there isnt a shuttle bus to Brighton like BBB5.

The rail system beggars belief. They are incapable of adapting to anything beyond the ordinary.
