"The trick is to be naughty but not get caught!"

My Old Man always used to say to me...............................

If you cant do the time.
Dont do the crime. ???

It was a bit of an occupational hazard of being a young footie fane back then.

Caught in possession of a policemans helmet in the Goldstone North stand, circa 1976.

I spent the whole second half in the police box.

They let me go in the end without charging me.

Got rounded up and put in a cell at the police station before a match at Aldershot in the League Cup some years ago. Didn't get let out until after the match which was pretty annoying but luckily didn't hear any more from them.

Had quite a few other close shaves when I might have got in trouble but it's one time when being female can work to your advantage :D

Off the top of my head, a game at home vs Villa when it was the first game that had been played for weeks anywhere cos of the bad weather, early 80's. Can you believe there was a Palace fan mouthing off in the North Stand? Me being a half decent runner got there first & chinned the twat.
Palace away, pre season "friendly", ejected twice in same game. Worth it though.

I think you know the Barnet away story "Das"? 1983, cells full of Brighton & Palace at Barnet nick, (Palace were at Enfield, 3rd round of the Cup)

There seems to be a link in these events!

Actually it was '82 away at Barnet; quite a few of us never actually made the game.

My family met up with a number of supporters from The Clifton (Worthing) at a game against Chesterfield and a load of us got arrested for siging GOSBTS in a pub. We were taken to Chesterfield police station for about 15 mins and then driven back up to the game and allowed to go in just as they kicked off the match. They told us that they did it for our own protection:lolol:

at home
Twice

Palace vs Huddersfield about 84. 0-0 ten minutes to go of a truly shite match, palace fans started to singa anti brighton song and I "gestured" to the Palace fans...I was hauled out .....thankfully as I was cold wet and miserable.

West Ham away 1978/9. in the brighton end, constant fighting going on..this skinhead took a swing and I caught him with a lucky punch( only fight I ever had at a football match and we all feared for our lives that day)..police "escorted me" to the police box and was held for 20 minutes after the game as with Bens Grandad..." for my own protection". Unfortunately released as all the brighton fans had gone home and West ham thugs still wandering around the area...not pleasant experience

On the terraces!!
a few too many times.

been kicked out/escorted/dragged out of away games in the last 2 seasons from:

Stoke (bad day ended up in the home fansd pub on roundabiout and was so pissed didnt realise game had finished and the place was filling up with locals!), Forest, PALarse, Derby, Reading, QPR, Ipswich and Southampton.

Palace was the worse when we beat then 0-1 a couple of years back, when we scored the whole end went off big time and a few of us thought it'd be a good idea to get on the pitch and advise the palace fans what we thought of them - cue getting jumped on by the police, frogmarched out the stand and ruffed up a bit!! KENTS!

In a cave
December 1988 A v Hull City. We went all over the country by Minibus, they introduced the Football Spectators Act which banned alcohol on anything above 10 seater vehicles. We pulled into the car park at the ground and got out with cans. We all got arrested and cautioned. The Police agreed it was a joke but they had the Chief Inspector with them to make sure they enforced the new law, which came into force that very day! They let us go and we got stuffed 5-2!

Later on I got done for the Lincoln pitch invasion in 1996. I was arrested after the Carlisle home match and locked up in Hove Police Station. The cells slowly filled up with Albion fans, including the infamous Nigel Erskin! I was given a caution a few hours later that evening and let go. I was subsequently banned from the Goldstone by Bellotti but got this overturned on appeal with the support of Sussex Police!

October 1996 I get arrested and cautioned for having a go (verbally!) at Bellotti away at Doncaster. The local police told me that IF they had a camera they would have taken my picture and sent it back to Brighton, but they didnt have one. According to those muppets the Brighton fans were a disgrace and Bellotti was being unfairly tagetted!

Not too bad in 33 years of watching Brighton!

I lobbed some celery at a copper at Elland Road whilst watching Leeds v Chelsea, kept behind in the grounds police cells for 3 hours- not charged.

We used to get in the Clifton about 10am to catch the midday train then on to one of the pubs near the ground thus ensuring we were very, very drunk by kick off time. Getting ejected from the ground became quite a normal thing. My personal record -
paid to get in the North stand, ejected for starting a chorus of "your gunna get your f***ing heads kicked in" to some away fans.
Paid to get in the south stand, ejected but cant remember why.
Paid to get in the Chicken run and kept quiet for the remainder of the game as I had run out of money.
It was strange on Sunday morning when I read the crowd figure to know that I was 3 of them.

Nestling in green nowhere
Not really "naughty" inside football grounds but have had some disagreements with gentlemen in public houses etc. on football days in the past.

Thrown out at Colchester a few years ago. Celebrated a goal whilst standing in their end! These were the days when our end sold out. Taken out by stewards past the brighton fans who kindly gave me abuse assuming i was an angry Colchester fan upset that Brighton had just scored their fourth.
