Nancy Platts but I'd have anyone over Charlotte "The Greens are fascist because they care about the environment" Vere.

Caroline Lucas is power mad. First it was her changing the structure of the Green Party so as to enable her to become their first leader, then she thought she'd try her hand at being their first MEP and now she's thinking about being their first MP. If the Green Party had more to offer than just a career path for Lucas then I might have considered voting for them!

Interesting take.

Wrong, but interesting.

The lists are really lacking the Monster Raving looney type party candidates. Did Brighton not have a Bob Hope Party and that wonderful fella who was the 'bucket on a head party' did he not sit next to Thatcher one year.

I feel disapointed it is the first time my niece can vote and I was talking about these partys but I guess the depoists are now to high for them to stand.

You mean the Citizens for Undead Rights and Equality are NOT looneys?

And I think you've confused Bob Hope and Bob Dobbs.

The wonderful Brian Ralfe is standing in Hove, though. Not quite a looney - or is he? - but hardly a straight politician. I remember him standing in Kemptown in 1974, wearing a gorgeous frock, waving a manifesto that promised all night sessions with the Chief Whip on the back benches.

Its £500 as I am currently going for a couple of very good positions in The City I thought it may not be so prudent to stand for what I had in mind. But if we go again in October/November and I am in situ watch out for me.

Interesting first post! I presume you have been coming on here a while and the first thing you post is Caroline Lucas.

Thats the fella, to me the list did not seem as long as its been in the past what with the passing of George Harrison and unless the guy from Dune is a facist looks like the BNP have given up as well. What was the cost in the past to make it more open to people.
