No he didin't. He was champion once .Prost and Senna won 3 each. He was a godd driver but the dominant force.

After deciphering your post, you need to look at more than just the record books. Mansell would have won three had it not been for two very unfortunate failures, one a nut coming of the wheel in Hungary (how often do you see that) and the second was the blow out in Adelaide when sitting pretty to win the title. If he had won the title that year then he would have been on two titles alongside Prost. The wheel nut also cost him a championship title putting him on three. You also forget he went to US and won the Indycart in his first season.

He was an exciting racing driver, far more entertaining than the sterile races we see nowdays.

Brilliant :clap2: It would be SO British to have a 'nearly man' as our greatest sportman ever :)

For his all around ability I'm going to plump for Daley Thompson.

He could have been a good footballer as well. Was on West Ham's books. I used to play for Burgess Hill U16s. He played for Cuckfield against us. He managed to score against us with a header - from outside the penalty box!

I cannot believe it's got this far and no one has mentioned the true hero of our time.
