Lineker was not a patch on Jimmy Greaves. Great goalscorer, yes, but he didn't have Jimmy's all round ability.


Lineker, (F) 74 starts 6 sub 80 total 48 goals
Greaves, (IF) 57 starts 0 sub 57 total 44 goals


Lineker was an out-and-out striker whereas Greaves was an inside forward and would play slightly deeper.
