After watching the Peterborough game, out of the 11 that started, performance wise, who should start on saturday;

Elphick - just above average on tuesday
McNulty - played well
El Abd - worked hard and did ok
Carole - Good first half, poor second
Davies - man of the match
Jarrett - worked hard, will improve

Sullivan (very average compared to normal), Virgo (distribution like me), Hinshelwood (too slow on the turn), Forster (worked hard with no end product), Andrew (was provided with no real service, he's good in the air, where were the crosses?).

Of course we have others available but there are 4 to 5 places up for grabs on saturday. Three points on saturday if Micky plays the best player for the appropriate position.

Virgo has a non performance clause in his contract so he will start regardless

Elphick: his usual mundane self.
mcnulty: made richards look shit.
el-abd: worked hard but only a stand in midfielder and livermore IS MUCH BETTER!!! (considering he played in an fa cup final!)
carole: good alround but nobody gave him the ball second half)
davies: good game and from what i saw could be the next zamora in the making!
jarret: for me on par with davies and does everything thompson didnt.

all apart from el-abd should start and a team of

kuipers
whing virgo elphick mcnulty
birchall livermore jarret carole
forster davies
will bring home the points, although very unlikely this will be the team.:(

team for saturday

good team murray mint, I included El Abd because he did enough to warrant inclusion in next game, although I'd like to see him at right back.
That team should be enough to get the three points.

I like that, more balanced than Adams will select.
Might keep Sullivan in despite his performance on Tuesday on the basis that Peter Shilton might of struggled with that defence in front of him.

McNulty, Jarrett, Davies and Forster will be the only ones with nailed down places

Sullivan - had a bad game, maybe good time to have a rest
Virgo - was terrible in his last 2 games
Elphick - out of form a bit, could be rested to avoid suspension in JPT
Hinshlewood - hasnt played for four years then playing twice a week all the time. Form has dipped, in need of a rest
El Abd - NOT a central midfielder. Maybe move him to right back
Carole - tailed off in the second half, maybe used as an impact sub
Andrew - doesnt pose as much as a goal threat as Davies or Forster

I wish he would play that team although with Whing probably out injured and his comments about Tuesday it is hard to see. I think it is hard on El Abd though as he had played well in midfield but we have to give Livermore a go in his favoured position as he should be good.

Forster on the wing does not work. I don't think Adams should be sacked but now he has a strong squad there is no excuse in playing players out of position. Andrew is only on loan and it did not work midweek so he has to be on the bench.

Tomorrow is a must win and I would fancy that team to get the right result (no guarantees obviously).

/QUOTE]

Do not think that is possible as a suspension for either a booking or sending off starts 7 days after the offense I think although that may only apply to red cards not 5 yellows. I thought the worry for a suspension was the Posh game.

The first part 'out of form' is definitely right though.

The last time I tried to nail down a plaice it just flapped away into deeper water
