Based on club history, seasons in the top flight etc I would have to say Pompey, with ourselves and Saints vying for 2nd and Bournemouth bringing up the rear.

What do you think NSC?

Portsmouth first
Southampton second
We would have to have at least a decade of top flight football and win a major competition to come near to equaling Southampton, if the criteria is what you suggest.

3rd place for Brighton

Pompey have the highest all time highest crowd at 50k & a history
Southampton have the longest run in the top flight
Brighton come 3rd imo but can more than match the top 2 on our day and at the moment we are just starting out a new day-despite your current position Saints.watch out.

All a much of a muchness, and all three are similar to the palace's, Norwich and QPR's of this world. All three a long way from even a west ham and it all depends on how the respective clubs are being run. Brighton suffered most as the under achievers, Saints being the over achievers on the south coast given their small crowds at The Dell.
On fanbase Brighton have probably the most chance of pushing on to becoming a bit bigger than medium sized, just because of population and fanbase.
On winning things, Brighton got out of the blocks fast with the Charity Shield in 1910. Then Pompey had a superb history and Saints fought off relegation for 25 years at the Dell, as well as winning the cup as massive underdogs.

It's official, you are all absolutely off your f***ing heads. Deluded.

How do you mean? The consensus is Brighton are third, way behind Portsmouth and Southampton.

The fact that every single poster has got Pompey as a bigger club than Saints..

We have spent most of our history in leagues above them,
Our record against them is much better than theirs against us,
We have a MUCH bigger fanbase,
We got bigger crowds than them in League One than they did in the PREMIER LEAGUE,
They can barely scrape 10k through the gates these days, our average attendances are consistently DOUBLE theirs.

The only small claim they have to be bigger than us is trophy wins, but what does a few trophies years and years ago have to do with how big a club is TODAY? Fook all.
