The big 4???Based on what, Last 10 years? Last 20years? Fan Base? Ground Size? Only Man Utd, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest have won the ultimate prize in europe.....But everything taken into consideration the top 4 clubs in this contry for me would be...

Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Leeds Utd....?????

Just who does come in fourth, i go for Leeds ahead of Newcastle, Chelsea, Villa, Everton.

The big four are Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal.

Traditionally whoever wins the grand slam table goes onto win the league although Liverpool proved the exception to that last season.

Chelsea????? Dont make me laugh,,,twenty years ago they were lucky to get 15,000 at the bridge for a home game, perhaps in another 20 years time, that if Roman doesnt pull the plug.

The big four as a term used by the media refers to Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. This is because these clubs have won the major trophies in recent seasons and nearly always finish in the top four in the league. It's not referring to fan base or overall history.

Not that I like Chelsea, I think that puts them comfortably in the top 4.

20 years ago you probably would have said Man Utd, Liverpool, Everton and Arsenal.

Now I would say as an apathetic premier league follower who doesnt know half the f***ing players in that division Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.

If you were to say 5 like they used to then I would say Man City. It would have been Tottenham.

Its all down to spending power now*.

*Even tho probably 3 of the 4 are probably technically bankrupt.

The top 4 is a concept that sky has made up, so they can over hype clashes between the 4 teams.

This big 4 has only emerged over the last couple of years. Not log ago it was the 'big 5' that couldn't be broken... Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle.

Before that it was Man Utd, Arsenal, Livepool, Newcastle and Leeds (I seem to remember)...

well if you base it on winning the first division/Premier league three times on the trot...Huddersfield, Arsenal and Manchester United are the BIG Three
