I doubt it is Adams call.

You know what I mean!! Adams would probably tell the board to sell if Whing has made it clear he wants to leave....

It would be nice to actually own a right back, rather than sticking whoever was not playing in midfield in that position.

Although of course the team improved out of all recognition on Saturday when it had two of the back 4 "out of position". Think you are going to have to get over your fear of playing players out of position, because Wilkins seems committed to the idea as a good thing in itself rather than as a stop-gap as it was with McGhee.

Was actually more to do with the fact that McGhee did not seem to worry about addressing the fact that once Watson had gone, we had no right backs in the squad and just played whoever there.

Whing looks like a decent right sided defender who can play at full back or in the centre of defence.

"Whoever"? Would you have forecast that Rents would get a game at right-back on Saturday then? Hart has also played there recently. Mayo too I think.

Hart does not look any more of a right back under Wilkins than he did under McGhee, still looks like he will dive in too quickly and cost us.

You could argue that Mayo and Lynch had to play there in the cup games as we are relying on a loan right back, due to the fact that the previous manager never addressed the fact we did not have any and the current manager had to react to this by bringing a loanee in to play that position, but could not be cup tied.

You seem to be missing the point that Wilkins actually believes playing players out of position is a good thing. He is doing it DELIBERATELY, not out of expediency. For example, he could have played the younger Hinshelwood in the cup games and he could have kept Whing at right-back on Saturday and brought on Elphick. But he consistently chooses the option of playing players out of position, because he thinks this is a good thing for the team and for the development of these players.

At least Mayo, Rents and Lynch have had experience playing at full back - albeit on the left.

We do have a right back - Paul Hinshelwood - but some muppet let him get cup tied.

That was not my point to start with, that was you trying to push the argument to something else.

My point was, it is nice to see a specialist right back in the squad, rather than as it seemed under the previous manager, picking the midfield and then whichever midfielder did not make it into those positions (Hart, Reid), playing them at right back.

But you seem in denial that this is happening under the current manager too as well. Has not also Reid and Hart played at right-back under Wilkins? And Wilkins has also broke new ground in playing Mayo and Rents there too.

It may be important to you that Whing is a specialist, I think it's more important to Wilkins that he is a good player who can play in a variety of positions.

For example, with Hinsh and Lynch likely still doubtful for Vale, shouldn't Whing carry on as centre-back - yes or no? Rather than bringing in "specialists" for those positions? Which we could do, with Elphick.

I am not going down the route you are trying to take it.

My orginal point was, it is nice to see a specialist right back in the squad as we have not had one of those for a while.

If you want to turn this into another point fine, but do it with somebody else.

Thanks.
