sad to say but not a lot

reckon they will lose Moses plus one or two others and possibly Warnock this month.....it could be all downhill from there

And with Pompey in the Shit and Falmer around the corner the next few years we could clean up as long as we can get out of this Div.

Happy days........

I've come back home.
At the start of the season the Torygraph reported this on Charlton:

'Financial health: Not good, with reports suggesting the club have a £40 million debt mountain'

In debt and a league one club so it fits

Of note The Guardian reported this today

'Even if David Sullivan and David Gold fail to secure a deal for West Ham they are certainly in the market for a London football club. Which is something of a pity for Simon Jordan, whose previous run-ins with the former Birmingham City owners mean they will not take cash-strapped Crystal Palace off his hands. The pair did look at buying Palace but concluded they would not want to put any money Jordan's way and will make a bid for Charlton Athletic instead.'

Must be Charlton, I was struggling to think of a league one team in that much trouble.

I've subsequently read that Sheffield United owe something in the region of £50 M

Obviously Newcastle owe quite a few quid as well, but don't appear to be in "financial trouble" so to speak.

what are the chances of Palace going down this season...we ALMOST got them in the FA cup, but I really want a match against them...next year would be fantastic!

What makes you think he was referring to the Championship? I'd have thought Division One would be more likely to be a League One team.

To be fair, i'm only going on what the OP stated.

Arn't United still waiting for compensation over Tevez or has that been settled now?

They have always suggested that if they recieved the money covering thier losses of about 20million they would be able to sort the books out.

That's who my question was meant for.

I think there are plenty of candidates in Div 1 (as there are in the Prem and the Championship)

.. but 47 million is a very high figure for a league one club (apart from perhaps Charlton)

... is the Notts County Chairman referring to ?

To put the odd million they owe into context, he talks of a "Division One" club, 47 million pounds in debt and "desperate for a new owner".

I presume by Division one he is referring to the Championship and I think it may be Sheffield United ?

If it's Leeds that would be Div 1 or Charlton. What about Southampton then?

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Although there have been no major bankruptcies of league clubs, how long is it before we lose our first? Surely there are only a certain amount of million/billionaires willing/able to get involved in football. Wages continue to rise at the top and that is going to have a knock on effect for the rest of the league. Creditors continually get shafted. So much money is generated by football, but fills the pockets of the already rich and leaks out of the game.

I was going to post that :lolol:

No doubt Jordan will clamber aboard his high horse as ever and claim he'd never want their porn-generated dirty cash tainting his precious club, when frankly most Palace fans would bite the hand off anybody who had a few spare millions to prevent them from slumping into administration.

The article goes on to say that it wasn't the allegations of player or manager poaching that did it for Gold and Sullivan, but the well-publicised comment from Jordan about impaling himself on one of their dildos. What goes around, comes around, Simon :lolol:

Southampton are not in trouble. They're through that, by going into admin last year, screwing their creditors, and aquiring a rich Swiss odd-ball.

Judging by all the names that are being suggested.......it shows just how bad the state of football is right now with so many clubs on the brink of administration.

Makes me even more grateful to a certain Mr T Bloom :falmer:

League 1 - Must be Leeds !

Not a chance its Leeds. Their financial situation is fine and dandy, after Bates sold the club to a 'completely new company' [ie himself] for £1, leaving the club's creditors millions out of pocket...
