Certainly not.

Is there a Panini sticker album for non-league? Can't see that catching on.

My son is currently having to deal with the emotional distress of his first ever "favourite player" leaving his club, as Ricky Shakes has left Ebbsfleet Utd.

Bizarrely, I'm struggling to come up with an equivalent in my football following. Peter Ward was my first "favourite", but by the time he did leave, I was actually quite used to the inevitability of it happening at some point. I was sad to see him go, but I don't remember being all that gutted, probably because it was bound to happen.

Zamora - again, it was so inevitable by then.
Nelson - that upset me, but he'd been so marginalised by then, it was again quite inevitable.

What about you all, who is the departure you were most gutted by?

Funnily enough pretty much all of the above for me...but i'll add Micky Robinson...loved him when i was a kid. As an adult, similar to you it has to Nelson that got me the worst....

....that 'goal' still sends shivers down my spine when i think about it.

Off on a tangent.

I was gutted when my favourite player had his Albion record taken from him.

That being Chappers youngest appearance.
When some no mark came onto the pitch at the end of the season meaningless kick about.

Murray - most graceful, intelligent player I've ever seen play for us.

Our Berbatov/Bergkamp.

There's been a few, but I'd say that Bennett, Murray, Currie and Hammond stung the most for various reasons in recent years. I'd probably put them in that order, but I've not given it much thought.
