I think ultimately, if teams are hit with the virus, they’ll have to suspend the season, but until then, to get around the law against televising 3pm Saturday matches, they could alter the k/o times.

If the Arsenal game is behind closed doors, they could move it to 1pm or 5pm so we could stream it live.

Nothing to stop them from having a PL game every evening really.

I think I must have hallucinated reading a NSC post placing Dunk and Duffy at the Cheltenham Festival.

I can't find it anywhere, so perhaps I need a virus test myself. I'm losing it, reality is falling apart

Anyway, if true, they really need tests themselves, isolation now, and the game called off.

I don't care really, it is budgeted money. Gone.

Don't see why Tony should take the hit.

Perhaps we can get 'loyalty' points if we refuse refunds ?

Agree. Those who intend scream “oi, I want my bloody money back NAAAHHH!” would strike me as a little petty minded under the circumstances. Everyone’s going to lose out to some degree, just suck it up.

I read that as well.

Why would they need tests? Has there been an outbreak associated with the Cheltenham Festival?

Random thought…

A televised game would still involve, what, 200+ people being in a ground, at absolute minimum?

Both teams and their support systems, TV crews, ground staff, some basic security, some police presence, H&S ambulance crews etc, catering etc etc…

So it's still a "large gathering of people". At what point does it no longer achieve the aim of 'not being a large gathering', if that is the aim?

I've seen 1,000 used previously as a 'large gathering' , would expect non-league games to continue with small crowds, this would be similar sized attendance.

I'd expect the Premier League / FA could rustle something up to compensate clubs on this. Average £2M gate receipts per game is not a massive number.

5 home fixtures to go roughly per club? x 20 x £2m = £200m, plus loss of operating revenue prawn sandwiches, burgers and booze. It's not insignificant though, is it?

Presumably the 200 people won't be concentrated together and will be spread out throughout the stadium. If all 200 were in the same space at the same time then that would be a large gathering but presumably away team in away area, home team in home area, TV people scattered around (there are less of them than you might assume). Probably biggest concentration of people would be press as they share a lounge and sit together.

I'm not too worried about my ST money, what I will want back is the three ST guest tickets I have purchased for friends for a future game, that's much more serious cash

They were there, along with Jason Steele.

All ticket holders to get free access to live broadcast.

Which is not compensation for missing the match.

Palios on the radio said that season ticket holders should take the hit as it will help out clubs who are financially struggling...**** OFF ....teams are struggling because they spend stupid money on average players and pay them obscene money.

We will probably hear this afternoon if it is called off or played behind closed doors.

As normal I might add, I.e. not behind closed doors.

I can’t see how it can as arsenal players came into contact with the Olympiacos guy and they had to isolate a couple of players....but what about those players who socialised etc with the other players who haven’t been isolated?

I think with Ireland’s announcement a short time ago, we will follow suit.

I don't think the government will take that action yet. Game on. 3 points closer to survival.

That isolation ends today
