When was the last time you used a pay phone (phone box) ?

Earlier this year - the iphone predictably ran out of battery and i needed to call a cab.

I used regularly before I got my mobile, and used to make free calls from them

If it was one of the phones that had the volume control then use 20p to make a call, finish your call with over 10p of credit left. When you hang up, don't put the receiver down, just use your hand, lift off and then when you have the dial tone dial 99* and your money will be returned to you.

Don't know how I found out but it used to work!!!

I detest using them. Maybe it's just me but i find phone boxes totally unhygienic. I feel dirty going in.
