When did NSC start?

I can't believe I took so long to join. I used to read it a lot.

Lord B - In the old one, there was a thread "Belotti thrown off train", can you please enlighten me as I have forgotten all about that....thanks.

Just as well you edited that to say Lord B. I was going to point out that Bozza's only had his grubby little mits on NSC since about 2002. (Since when the site has been down more times than a brass's crusties).

That doesn't mean that I was responsible for it.

Nor do I remember the details of Bellotti's de-training, BoF. Sorry, because I'm sure it was a good story.

Doug, stuart, John Hawkins, Vicar, Noele, Bellotti's Love Child, Juan Albion, Mark, Bridge Over Troubled Water, or Rod might remember. They all posted on the 1997 threads about this incident.

The de-training incident, wasn't that on the way home from a game at Swansea, believe the police removed Belotti from the train for his own safety, perhaps somewhere like Cardiff.

Being in Australia at that time the only way to get news of the Albion (the internet was still not widely used) was a monthly newsletter put together by a guy in Adelaide who would collect articles from the Argus and post it to us members

once I discovered the old mailing list and then reading the old NSC boards like lord B has posted, it was heaven

I started posting in early 98 but believe NSC had been around for some time before that, if that is any help.

I first posted around Septemer '97, and it had been around a few months before that. I think it was early '97, becuase the old counter used allude to a date around that time as how many visiters had come through. Can't remember exactly though.

I think it was at Bridgend. I wasn't there but from memory the Clown of Pevensey Bay witnessed the whole incident.

It was on the way back from the first game of the season against Swansea. I believe some Albion fans discovered that our chief executive was sitting in 1st class and proceeded to round up some more Albion fans and try and have some "words" with him. The train staff may have called the police and the train made an unscheduled stop at Bridgend where Mr Bellotti was escorted off the train for his own safety.

Well that's the legend anyway.

I sadly wasn't there on the de-training occasion but I remember an account of it in Gull's Eye. The height of my Bellotti-baiting (other than the event that led to my nickname) was away at Rochdale in about 1996, when Jimmy Case had to be smuggled out of the ground onto the coach with a coat on his head so the angry fans surrounding the exit would assume it was Bellotti. The coach then did two circuits of Rochdale before coming backto pick up the actual David Bellotti. He still copped loads of abuse at a motorway service station at 3am, and then had two (2) police cars waiting for him on his return to the Goldstone.

For some reason, the messages don't match the thread titles (and quite a lot have been lost completely) - but worth a look nonetheless.

That was SPOOKY. Haven't seen that version of NSC for so long, but it brought back memories really sharply. I remember using NSC when it was Gary's baby at homepages.enterprise.net, probably around late 1996.

Thanks for that link Lord B, that was a real 'Back to the Future' moment there.
