Truth is, Rififi et son Frères is SO GOOD it would have made the poll completely pointless and predictable, so I omitted it DELIBERATELY.

I LOVE that bit where that french bloke shoots the other french bloke and all that. I don't even need the subtitles either.

Trés bién monsieur

etc

Oh behave. It's most famous for the safe cracking heist which is done in complete silence - a 32-minute sequence with no dialogue or music. Marvellous.

According to Halliwells, the original title was 'Du Rififi chez les Hommes', if it's the same film from '55

That's the one.

Probably not the best of all time, but definately deserves a mention.

It's my favourite film at the moment.

The Godfather & Godfather 2. These are films you really have to sit down and watch, no distractions. There's so much in them that everytime I see something new.

I'm in a FILMY mood this week. You don't like it - what are you going to do about it ? I'm here, you're there, and thats not a DAMN THING you can do about it. You can't stop me starting these threads. Well, a MOD could if he wanted to I suppose. Thats a thought - why are there no female mods ? Are they too dangerously erratic with their hairtrigger pre-menstrual moodswings and irrational knee-jerk reactions ? That probably has something to do with it. Or maybe girls just don't WANT to moderate on messageboards. Its a fairly thankless task after all. I wouldn't blame them if they gave it a swerve and just left it to the likes of Hiney, El Pres etc. I don't think I could be arsed (not that I've ever been asked).

Anyway. Which one of these is your bestest GANGSTER flick, do you think ? And if you reply with "Durrr...where's the poll ?" - well I'm typing it NOW arn't I, you tit.

ithout a doubt White Heat with Jimmy Cagney it had everything how can anyone go for James Bond, top o' the world ma

I can see why you've put Pulp Fiction in but I don't agree with it being there. SUPERB a film as it is, and indeed covering the topic of gangsters, I just can't consider it a gangster movie.

For that reason I have voted Goodfellas, as that truly is a TOP NOTCH gangster flick.

I have voted for The Godfather, although I could easily have voted for the other two parts as well. Apart from being a WICKED film it is, apparently, scarily accurate and true to life (according to my Italian politics tutor).
