A sign company specialising in self adhesive signs "Why Don't You Stick It" based in south Wales if memory serves me correctly.

But my favourite, and one for the font geeks, a sign company in Canada called, "Helvetica Sucks".

Don't know if they are still around, but their name stemmed from the time in the mid 80s when all sign making machines had the Helvetica font built in, and new fonts used to cost £250 each, the choice was things like "Souvenir", "Clarenden" and "Commericial Script", so most sign companies used Helvetica till their eyes bled.

The best ones, for some reason, are normally the hairdresser's shops - "Curl up and Dye" being one of my favourites but I did hear of an antiques shop called "Robin Bastard" which I thought was quite funny

There was a book out devoted to shops with funny names. Curiously, it suggested that Brighton had more such firms than any other town or city.

From their website, I'm fascinated to learn what Joan Armour Trading sells :lolol:

Where McDonalds now is on the A24 there used to be a company entitled "Plummet - Winch Manufacturers".

Also, in Dorking there is a Yoga studio which is delightfully called "Kripalu".
