I left school in 1983.
My first job was serving tea, coffee etc in the De La Warr Pavillion, to all the old crusties of Bexhill.
Particular favourite was this old geezer who used to drink his tea out of the saucer and then proceeded to use it as an ashtray.

Same---three day week at Bevan Funnell - Newhaven as a cabinet maker.
Six o'clock start till ten o'clock in the evening.
Start in the dark - finish in the dark-------you try and tell the youngsters of today wot it was like
Ten pounds a week as well
