And what is so "oh dear" about that?

Sam Cooke - Change is Gonna Come

That is probably my favourite, most gun-wrenchingly sad, never-fails-to-hit-that-spot song of all time. But before a football match? A match we might then lose? It'd be sadder than ever.

Ah, but it's a song that tells of past humiliation and men having faced it dejected and weary, but with the strong faith in the future, and redemption.
That's where my songlist STARTS. Even if we do lose, there's men who have faced worse and retained dignity with faith.

I was thinking that, its the ring tone on my phone, so I hope no one rings me when he is on patrol on Saturday

:D It's my text message tune

I think that any and everyone who attends games must be thinking "oh dear :nono: " that you have never heard THAT at Withdean!

I wonder if there was a time I did NOT hear it before a match - and I've arrived as a fan within 15 minutes of ko and heard it on the way in! It's about the only tune I can almost rely on to be heard at a game - and something by The Clash of course.

Always look on the Bright Side of Life, seems appropriate as no-one really wants to be there.

In actual fact, we used to sing that at the end of our school matches, if we succumbed to defeat. A decent alternative to booing and raises the spirits somewhat.

Another 'vote' for 'Reward' by The Teardrop Explodes from me too. Oh, & it'd be really grand to hear 'True Faith' by you-know-who (coz I stuck it on t'other day & it still sounded absolutely awesome)

"you took my time and you took my money
again and again I've taken too much
of the things that cost you too much"

Yeees, I can see how that tune might strike a chord!
