I've just made that up. It means "Standard Motorway Cruising Speed". Good, eh?

Anyway, when you're on a motorway and have a clear-ish sort of run - what is the kinda speed you cruise at nowadays?

If relatively clear, just above 90, not above 100 - don't want an instant ban!

About 60 as I don't trust my car to go any faster.

I got tailed for 10 miles on the M1 by an umarked police car - they said my average speed was 112Mph - Oops -

It was 11pm, dry & clear - I've ticked the 100Mph+ Badboy

Used to be near 100 but these days (since recently getting a ticket off of those sneaky bastard Cheshire Police on the M6-hiding their cameras behind an overhanging tree on the opposite side of the road ) I now stick to a sedate 90ish

I dont ever drive on M-ways, they scare me, but I reckon Tank is a badman

alternated between 65-75 last night, as i only had half a tank of petrol to get home
did 85+ on the way to Derby as id though i'd be late and nearly ran out of fuel!

I used to be but then I had to do it. It's all about confidence and to be honest, motorway driving is easier once you get used to it.
