What is this Water Based Activity Called?

I saw two people doing it on Sunday just off Lancing Beach, and a couple of weeks back someone doing it by the Brighton Pier.

I want a go. The link says stand up paddling, but there must be a proper name for it, I want to hire the gear and get those guns pumping!!

Its called PADDLE BOARDING.

Its baisically a surf board with a paddle. There is a company that hires all the gear and will give you some lessons somewhere on the seafront, but Im not sure where. One of the guys at work is really into it and goes out nearly everyday and he is good mates with the guy who owns the company so I'll ask about it for you.
