I get the same as insider, all depends on how you read it but if you break it down it's 132x989+6-2x21=2741550

Accoring to laws of brackets and things you have to open the brackets first and then do the multiplication then the remaining addition and subtraction.

works out as

132 x 23 + 132 x 43 = 8712 (a)

6 = 6 (b)

4 x (& x 3 ) = 40 (c)

becomes a+b-c= 8678

The answer is 130470 (and the brackets inserted were not required). Most basic calculators will not get this question correct since they don't use BODMAS or whatever it is they teach you at junior school.

Trust me, I got half a maths degree.

inside is correct - there are no brackets around the first part so you can't assume they are there!!

I put it in exactly as Commander wrote on my scientific calculator and got 130,470.
