After the highly succesful potato worshipping of the best VEGETABLE, comes the sequal, best MEAT (with added poll)

Fish is NOT a meat for the purposes of this thread, however some essential (by that I mean pretentious) meats have probably been left off by accident.

Which one ROCKS your world and would be welcome on your plate any time?*

Beef innit, closely followed by pork.

That was my initial reaction and it's how I've voted, but I'm not sure now. Bacon and sausages are pretty bloody good.

Steaks and burgers Vs Bacon and sausages

Roast beef Vs Belly of Pork & crackling, it's too close to call.

I love the beef, and Crispy Duck with all the gubbins is my favourite dish of all time, BUT without pork there is NO fry up, so Pork WINS as it adds the Sausage, Bacon and black pudding to the fry up, and is also the best meat for Roast dinners, especially with a good crackling. Pork

I think this may be the toughest poll i've ever seen on NSC ..............

It's between Lamb, Veal or Pork ..............

*edit*

or maybe Beef or Goose ............

*edit*

No, Rabbit

*edit*

or Guinea Fowl, and Venison is nice

Thank God you didn't include Skate, Cod, Scallops and Halibut or I may have looked indecisive

Beef has the advantage of producing the finest dish on earth - Steak. Despite this, the sheer versatility and deliciosity of PORK means that it claims my vote. Bacon, Sausages, RIBS, HAM, CHOPS (in a mustard cider sauce), PORK SCRATCHINGS - and we haven't even mentioned ROAST PORK WITH CRACKLING yet.

Despite my fondness for a bit of GAMMON, I voted for the gorgeousness that is LAMB

I fuckin love Lamb, simple as that. Agreed that Chicken and Pork are more versatile and in terms of a decent Steak beef wins hands down but minced Lamb Burgers and Kebabs (not the shit you get ready made in a supermarket), Lamb Steaks, Ribs, Cutlets, Shish Kebabs and most of all ROAST LAMB make it greatest meat.

Sake Brett why did you have to start this thread at this time of day, I'm WELL HUNGRY now!

A very close call between pork and duck for me.
Duck just about wins it, mainly down to duck & pancakes

Beef, just. With pork a very close second for it's outstanding contributions to black pudding, bacon and sausages.

I had crocodile for the first time last night. was not overly impressed as it was very flavourless.

My favourite meat would have to be Kangeroo. but i'm having springbok tonight so that could trump it!
