I put Ninian Park! I'm sure there are a few other old-timers who've been there as well. And you're correct, the reformed Halifax do still play at the Shay.

I must say I'm EXTREMELY jealous that you've been to Bradford (Park Avenue). I've only ever seen them at Horsfall (Braford's answer to Withdean)

Sorry about Ninian Park, I noticed the error after posting but couldn't be arsed to edit.
Seagulls Special and a bizarre overhead kick from Spider Mellor (our only shot of the game I seem to remember) gave us a 1-0 win - must have been 1975-6.
The visit to Bradford PA was the previous decade when my Dad decided that his young teenage son needed to see more of the country before deciding where to go to university. I really can't remember the score but he also had us going off to Barrow:eek: that season - I chose Leicester in the end and spent 3 years watching Frank Worthington in his pomp.
Got my own back on the old man eventually - took him and our son to watch the Albion at Carlisle in 2001.

yeah, well done, lists and lists and lists, it's not a competition.

who's can paint a picture with WORDS about their epic pilgramages?

worst / best / flairest / biggest terrace ...

Charlton at the Old Valley was my first ever away game. Because I was little, and went with my Mum, we went in the seats behind the goal. I brought my brother's brand new split screen DONKEY KONG, and my Rothman's yearbook, to keep me entertained on the coach journey.

When we got there we went in quite early, so I took my plastic bag, with KONG, BOOK and TWIX in with me, and stowed it carefully under my seat.

As far as I know its still there....

I didn't know we were including re-built grounds, as I also went to the old Valley, AND stood on what was in it's time the biggest (?) English league ground terrace, accomodating a whopping 22 000 souls

Mmmmm, think again as I think that terrace held over 40,000 at some point. The North Bank at Highbury held 26,000 many years ago and I think both the Stretford End at Old Trafford and the Holte End at Villa Park were bigger than that.

Didn't Hull have one of the biggest terraces in the country?

Well Dean Court and The Valley don't count as they're 'rebuilds' not new grounds (and I can claim them as well). Avenue, whilst giving you great kudos, is not a current League ground. Twerton Park still exists so that doesn't count either. And I forgot Northampton's County Ground so I can add that to my list.

And you don't appear to have Bolton, Roker Park or Ayresome Park. I on the other hand don't have Plough Lane or Wigan's old ground (can't remember what it was called either).

So I'm still one up! (Althought I'm awaiting the Stewards' Enquiry on Bradford. Doubtless you'll press your claim as it was a league ground when you went there.)
