He was a hot prospect I think, was youth team captain but Wilkins obviously didn't feel he could live up to his potential. And whatever you say about Wilkins he knows what he'd doing at youth level.

No he didn't fall out with Wilkins - Sam was a nice player but most of us can see he was easliy mussled off of the ball which isn't great being a defender
