17 due to personal problems between my parents.

Three months after i was 17, left lancing and went to Saaaarf london, well Peckham actually, and got in a very bad drink and 'other things state' for 3 and a half years, then back daaan saarf again to my own pad in Goldstone road hove.

Went to the Recruiting Office in Queens Rd. Told them I was 18 and joined the Army.
It wasn't until I became a parent years later that I gave any thought as to how my poor mother felt when I told her.
