Still with debts of 80 mill though BOF.
History is against them as well, only one team bottom at Xmas has ever survived the drop.
Two things here - the one team thing is in the Premier League era - Sky didn't invent football.
Secondly most years the team at the very bottom is fairly adrift of the others by Christmas. West Ham are only 2 wins away from mid table, add to that the teams with paper thin squads who have over achieved in the first half of the season (Blackpool, West Brom), teams with management issues of their own (Villa, Fulham) and teams with limited squads of their own (Wolves, Wigan, Birmingham.)
Poyet would have to give serious consideration to a club of their size, with their history and tradition. It's local(ish) and those expecting Falmer to keep Poyet at the club are living in dreamland. The Hammers have a fairly decent ground of their own.
However, if they were to act now I'd imagine they'd be looking for a firefighter with Premier League experience, if it is at the year end as we all know they could do a hell of a lot worse than Poyet.
