Just out of interest as we're sorted for ours but...which pieces of music did NSCers get spliced to? What did the missus walk in to, which, if any, hymns were sung, and what was your "first dance" music ?

It's a fairly slushy, wet topic I know but hey, spring is in the air...well at least over there. :(

'You'll never walk alone' during signing of register.
'Forever in blue jeans' for 1st dance. (I couln't find 'forever in blue and white stripes' by anyone)

Missus walked down the aisle to an abbreviated Pachabel's Canon.
Signing of the register random string quartet music.
Walked out of the church to some dramatic organ piece (I've no idea who by or what).

First dance was acoustic version of Everlong by Foo Fighters.

First dance was 'California Dreaming'. I can't for the LIFE of me remember why.

A good friend of mine walked down the aisle to 'Somebody' by Depeche Mode. Sounded brilliant, and the lyrics are very apt:

I want somebody to share, share the rest of my life
Share my innermost thoughts, know my intimate details
Someone who'll stand by my side and give me support
And in return she'll get my support

She will listen to me when I want to speak
About the world we live in and life in general

Though my views may be wrong, they may even be perverted
She'll hear me out, and won't easily be converted
To my way of thinking in fact she'll often disagree
But at the end of it all she will understand me

I want somebody who cares for me passionately
With every thought and with every breath
Someone who'll help me see things in a different light
All the things I detest I will almost like

I don't want to be tied to anyone's strings
I'm carefully trying to steer clear of those things
But when I'm asleep I want somebody
Who will put their arms around me, kiss me tenderly

Though things like this make me sick
In a case like this I'll get away with it

No music at all during the service, mainly due to me forgetting the CD.

First dance was "A kind of Hush" by Hermans Hermits.

Not Luton! Thank God
Missus came down to "Day like this" - Elbow

First Dance - "Kiss from a Rose" - Seal

We also had some of our favourite albums playing during our meal. We removed "Grounds for Divorce" from the Seldom Seen Kid

My fair lady has asked ME to write and record the tune she's walking down to. Been trying over the last few months to create a basic version of a Hans Zimmer-esque piece.

Not easy.

First Dance - Ring of Fire Johnny Cash

Did you have curry for the Wedding Breakfast then?

We went traditional during the ceremony, though no hymns or singing though as it was a civil ceremony.

1st Dance was to the Universal, by Blur.

We had a lovely day all in all.

For his first dance a couple of years ago, I did suggest to a mate who was getting hitched to play either "William, it was really nothing" by The Smiths (containing the infamous lyric, "How can you stay with a fat girl who says, 'oh... would you like to marry me?' ") or the more direct Mozzer number "You're the one for me, fatty."

Unsurprisingly, he went against both suggestions :(

Speaking of The Smiths, my wife's sister, chose 'Heaven knows I'm miserable now' for her first dance.

A STAINS-supporting colleague once said he had a Depeche Mode tune for his first dance. I correctly guessed that it was 'Somebody'.

Shame it wasn't 'A Question of Lust', really.
